A New Beginning

A hint of hesitation in everything she does

Always unsure how she will be perceived

The faith she had all her life

Contradicted everything that she ever believed

Things around changed, people changed

All she did was tried to adjust

But the perceptions that others had on her, without knowing her,

Was all so unjust

She cried her heart out, suffered in silence

Expecting things to be fine someday

However, situations never got better

Thus, her faith slowly faded away

The misery seeped in; days got gloomier

Nothing really felt good within

She began to lose her identity

All she did was lament about how things had initially been

As the days passed by, she got mentally stronger

Trying not to get impacted by the negativity around

But deep within it still bothered her

Thus, the peace she was looking for, was never found

With the years passing by, she chose to give a damn

To everything and everyone that hurt her

She could find no way to feel better

Nothing to get the pain blur

Though the experiences are still etched in her mind

The days have become better

She has come to realise at last

That not everything and everyone should matter

As all that we wish for, cannot be fulfilled

There is no point being snappy

She chose to look at the brighter side of life

Chose to focus on being happy
