A Mind Of Its Own

There was once, a Florist of a kind. His deep love for flowers nurtured his hearts felt desire to open his own flower shop.

Day after day he would welcome customers with a warm smile spread across his face.

unsettling comments slash him side to side, Is he really fit for this job? A job not meant for someone from his background.

A family of proud doctors, awaiting the generation's legacy to be passed down. just to be put at halt by a young boy's passion for the beauty in nature.

He loved flowers, how they appear tirelessly beautiful, perfect in any form, just after birth and through its old age.

it gave him pleasure, to be able to know the vast meadows, holding variety of different flowers, a value of each only he would entirely understand.

People pass by, ignoring his pleas. from the cities of noise and destruction, his shop stands alone. a drop of color on the black and white canvas.

he wondered, will anyone give a glance at his most beautiful creations?

his self made breeds of flowers and plants, each different in someway.

his tireless days of work just to be thrown away in seconds.

he didn't have enough to feed himself, but he didn't want to sacrifice his dreams for mere food on his plate.

because it was his passion.

his favorite of all flowers in his garden were the bright red roses. those petals were of a fine red.

wine like red, the red tainted in rubies.

Blood red.

only he knows the true origin of those petals. because that magnificent color originated from the love for his parents.

he hated them. but couldn't let them go.

so he'd preserve all his loved ones, in the something far more beautiful.

Roses.
