A Lesson To Be Learnt

The ant that crawls on the earth,

Will bear the fruits of its work during dearth.

It knows it’s power and it’s worth,

It knows that time will bring it mirth.

Time for work and only work,

To discover surprises that lurk.

An eternity of leisure,

Comes from persevering under pressure.

It shall find the treasure,

that’ll bring greater joy and pleasure.

It takes on the heat to survive the cold,

It knows no rest and works with such vigour,

Because it knows that nothing lasts,

Not even the summer.

The sun may whisper goodbye sooner,

Bringing the cold, cold winter.

From this, humans, we must learn,

To live from the bread that we earn,

To face our shortcomings for the best in turn,

And to never give up until we burn.
