A Journey Back To Thyself
By Udita Bose
Into the silence of the night, starring at the lonely moon,
She sat amazed at the sight, the moon was lonely but beautiful.
The butterflies in her tummy, the tear drops in her eyes,
Gasping at the moon lit sky, she prayed, with her hand placed on her bosom.
Words that were left unspoken of, and feelings that tore her apart,
Only the moon reminded her, that alone, she could conquer her woes and the world.
A heart full of love and empathy, a pair of eyes, lit up with insight into the future,
She was strong, oh yes, an unstoppable, trailblazer.
The lessons she learned through the eyes that met,
Stronger than the diamond in her ring, keeping her alert and awake.
Focused on leaving a positive impact, through the footprints of her work,
Took the Nation by surprise and the Moon by shock.
The stars applauded. They knew, a competitor has been sent to Earth,
Only so that she could protect, the sky, the moon, the stars, in the warmth of her hearth.
On a path embraced with empathy, and the oath to stand by all,
A child blossomed into a woman, and oh, a world leader was born.
Onward and Upward, the journey was turbulent, with scars that bled her heart,
Not once did she fall apart, because after all, the roses come with their share of thorns.
The sun sets to only rise in the horizon again, lit up with mirth and glory,
She knew, the light will embrace the dream that lay in between the teary eyes.
Determined, she watered the seeds and lay bare those bruised wings,
Ready to grow and fly, the horizon was her only limit.
“Love thyself, before you love another”, she said,
“Work on yourself before you work towards the bond”, the Almighty exclaimed.
