A Home To Me

By Chubala Hongang

You may write the best tragic stories,

But the moment you held me the pen,

I swear I’d rewrite them all into a beautiful fairytale.

You may burn the cities down,

Stop the day and give me all the warmth,

But my heart will always long for the warmth of your skin.

You may offer me the moon to walk on,

And the clouds to sleep on,

However, I’d rather walk with you up the thorns and rocks,

Than to walk the paradise all alone.

And you may run down the hills,

Jump off the cliffs, fly beyond the skies,

But when night falls,

and you feel tired and cold,

I hope you come back home.

A home to me.
