A Heart in the Wrong Garden

There was a little flower

that bloomed with all its heart.

Every morning, it opened its petals,

hoping someone would notice

how beautifully it tried.

It waited for the rain,

waited for the sunlight,

waited for the gardener

who rarely came.

Still, it kept blooming.

It gave away its fragrance

without asking for anything back.

It thought,

Perhaps if I bloom a little brighter,

perhaps if I give a little more,

someone will finally stay.

But the garden remained quiet.

And slowly,

the flower began to forget

what it was like to bloom

for itself.

It mistook being ignored

for not being beautiful enough.

Until one day,

it stopped waiting.

It turned toward the sunlight

that had always been there.

It felt the roots beneath it,

the earth that had never let it fall,

and the warmth of the garden

that had quietly held it all along.

It realized

some flowers don't die

because they aren't beautiful.

Sometimes,

they simply spend too long

trying to bloom

where nobody knows

how to appreciate them.

And perhaps one day,

someone will come

who won't love the flower

only for its petals.

They'll notice its fragrance,

its strength,

the way it survived

the seasons when nobody cared.

But until then,

let it bloom.

Not for someone's attention.

Not for someone's approval.

For itself.

Because you may think

this story was about a flower.

It never was.

It was about a heart-

a heart that gave too much,

waited too long,

and blamed itself

when love never came back.

Until it finally understood:

It was never too difficult to love.

It was simply a beautiful heart

blooming in the wrong garden.
