A Dime For My Soul

Hit the ball, that’s the rule

A message on the wall.

I came from the valley

When I started my journey.

I was twenty, innocent, & a little clumsy.

I lost the home, I called my own.

I sold my own body to survive daily.

Freedom, Anyone? Yet, no one.

I begged for love

But too expensive to have.

I asked for mercy

But it was hate instead of pity.

A dime, in exchange of your time.

I shut my eyes in anguish

It seems I don’t exist.

Enough of my agony

Let me rest peacefully.
