Hope

By Zahra Shirpurwala

Its hope that keeps me going in the morning

Its hope that wakes me up every day

Its hope that adds tune when I sing

Hope’s the only reason I am moving on you can say

I have passed a year

Full of sadness and tear

Though every time I open my window

Its hope that brings me cheer

I may not be the wisest person in the land

I may not be able to predict the future

But something unknown makes a sound in my ear

It says

Have hope for this will be a wonderful year
