Eyes

By Shanvi

I feel my eyes observing various human expressions

Anger, fear, contempt, sad

I sense them absorbing insurmountable colours

Blue, magenta, purple, red

I feel them going through different emotions

Anxiety, pain, confusion, boredom

And as if my hands are tied

I hold you in my these very eyes

And as if I can’t keep you in my arms

I keep you in these hollow sockets

As if this would make me less lonely

Keeping me away from my very own overflowing sadness

As if this would make the world less stony.
