Bite

By Sharon Ann Philip

You make dinner on a lazy day

The drizzle of olive oil over garlic scented

Tomatoes, bleeding into a gooey mess

Tempered by the harmony of salt and pepper.

I set the table, wine glasses making a cozy pair

As we slurped spaghetti in unison, throats warmed

And tongues loosened. With smooth stimuli

Of flavours entangled.

We lay with bodies interwined

At ease amidst the greasy plates
