You

You are the soul that gives life to my body,
From which I hear the sacred sound of “OM”,
The moon in the sky that guides my tears,
And the stars whose beauty we all admire.
You are the glow of the purifying fire,
And the force of water that can move the mightiest,
The air that I breathe, my sustenance and joy,
Without which I cannot survive or thrive.
You are my Gita, the song of the divine,
And the chirping of birds that fill me with peace,
My morning tea, the sweetest start to my day,
And the poem that surpasses all knowledge and belief.
You are the happiness of a child,
And the stillness of a monk,
The damru of Shiva, that creates a new world,
And the flute of Krishna, that enchants all who hear.
You are the arrow of Rama, that never misses its mark,
And the qawali in a song, that uplifts my soul,
The eyes in the organs revealing beauty,
And the vastness of space, that goes beyond my imagination.
You are the love that fills my hearts and emotions,
And the compassion that guides my every deed,
The rose in my garden whose fragrance delights,
And the tulsi plant, dearest to the Lord.
You are the experience of age, that brings insight,
And the roar of the thunderstorm, that shakes the earth with its might,
The wonder of a magician, who creates illusions so bright,
And the creativity of an artist, that fills my world with delight.
You are the rays of the sun, carrying the warmth and heat,
And the shade of the tree, giving me relief,
The soil, where I’ll return when my time is complete,
And the passing of time, always less than I need.
You are the excitement of the first salary,
And the fear of losing the job,
The buzz of the office chatters,
And the calm of a tea break.
You are the essence of the sandalwood, sweet and pure,
And the sound of conch, calling all to prayer,
The ink of my pen, through which my thoughts endure,
And the wisdom in silence, when words are too rare.
You are my helicopter shot, a cricket delight,
And the badminton scoop, in its graceful flight,
The mountains that stand in scenic embrace,
And the pav bhaji whose taste I cannot replace.
You are the first thing I see when I open my eyes,
And the last thing I see when day bids its goodbyes,
For everything but you fades from my sight,
You are my guiding star, my beacon of light.
You are the light that dispels the darkness,
And the wisdom of Gautama, the most learned of seers,
The melody of Bhajans that leads me to ecstasy,
In you, my heart finds a haven, and my soul find its cure.
