Her

The sound of her footsteps up the stairs,
A shadow of her frail but elegant body comes to my vision,
As she stands there watching,
Typing out the words that I wish I could say,
Her voice echoes the itinerary of her day,
She fumbles around my room, cleaning the messes that I’ve made,
She felt so close yet so far away
- for me to reach her,
Never would she caress me or hold me and say,
It’s alright
But believed that I mysteriously had no sombre nights,
If she’d just open her eyes and see,
The girl who desperately needed to be free,
One with eyes that gleamed of crisp tears,
Of a girl who would hide behind walls of her fears,
Blind to my bleeding pores,
Deaf to my timeless cries,
She let go of the girl who once had an unbroken smile,
