3 Talking Stars
By Eliezer Khiangte
On the first week of the full moon,
Stars filled the dark sky.
Not a spot of that dark was left-
And I gazed on them.
Speakest to me one among those stars.
“Who thou art to gazed on me among these stars?
For I have done my work and died.”
Speakest thou me plainly the words thou sayest me.
And yet an another star looked upon me.
"Thou low one, Why lookest up into this dark sky of nothingness?"
To behold thy beauty and thy fellow brethren.
And yet again, a third star showed up from the midst of them.
"We are but a dot in the sky to compare to thee.
Why glorify us?"
You being as dot but light the dark sky
But we being as superior creation are not like thee.
It’s only thee and thy brethren who lit the dark
When the moon loses lits light.
Soul of good man add among them
And thus wonders me whether am among them?
Lit the night till the first ray of the morning sun,
Return to your home on high.
I am but a man who count stars,
And not one to reach it.
Am as lost but now that I know,
Time still have mercy on me,
To do as those stars.
