Worth Living

Updated: Sep 3

Toy strewn floors,

Cars here, Cars there,

Little cars everywhere.

Napkins here, chocolates there,

Colouring books, paper planes,

Water colours, tracks and trains,

Building blocks, kinderjoy toys,

Shouting, yelling, drowning my voice!

Doraemon on TV plays aloud,

Or sometimes Shinchan comes around.

Piled up laundry, piled up books,

Smell of lotions, baby powders,

Gobbling up anything that Amma cooks-

Butter cookies, cakes and chowders,

Crumbs of cookies everywhere-

Bubbles, bubbles in the air!

Scribbled bedsheets, doodled walls,

From under the bed, out one crawls.

Little feet tapping, running here and there,

Sound of laughter echoes everywhere.

Voices calling Amma all at once,

With open arms, the little one runs,

Wait for me, wait for baby, he calls out,

From the doorstep he cries out loud!

Pecks of kisses falling on me,

From tiny lips, now and then.

Little arms hugging me, tugging me,

All four showering such love on me.

Tired and drained though I may be-

Love, joy and memories they create

All these and more make my day-

A day worth living, everyday!
