Being Human

By Ananya Karandikar

Being human is a necessity

Rarely seen around

Resting in its shallow depth

Ceasing to be profound

Hearts are stray and far away

Never going beyond the obvious

Unknown is the inner peace

Which still remains oblivious

Spirit, knowledge and conscience

Together mark the priority

But here we´re left with heartless souls

Driven by inhumane sanity

Oh dear god I wish no more

Than with what I´m already blessed

Instead of a hollow mind

I´d rather be heartbroken than heartless
