All The Bitterness

By Esha Jaiswal

I wish I could make all the bitterness,

I have within me,

disappear with a click.

Let all that buildup of anger,

wash away with the waves

of the Ocean playing out of an app on my phone.

I want to run.

Run so fast,

run so free,

that the chains of yesterday fall behind,

one by one,

such that I don't remember

any of it

like a rebirth,

freeing me to fly away –

majestic and soaring.

Up, up and away!
