A tune that was once carved on our hearts

Now buried in the deepest crevices of our souls in parts

Guess we were just two halves that could never belong

The mosaics of our memories, but a forgotten song

Remembering it all with the setting sun

We’d come a long way from where we’d begun

It felt so right even though ‘twas so wrong

You and I are but a forgotten song

Resigned to a fate we could never accept

With all the promises yet unkept

And the pieces of our hearts that in our chests thronged

We were forced to sing a forgotten song
