Fire

By Vaidehi Watwe

Waves swallow all,

They destroy everything;

None can go near,

For he can prick like sting..

Purifies the old and worn,

Melts down the tough;

Sparkles the gems and stone,

And he is rough..

What touches, might end,

Yet ashes grow new;

To ignite, just needs a spark,

And to douse, drops few..

Feared yet wanted,

Some get warmth, others haunted;

Bonfire or a pyre,

He is the same fire..
