The Sand

Updated: Jul 30

By Jiah Zahid Abdulla

The ocean, mighty and strong

It’s waves even mightier

As it reaches the shore.

The waves hurry to the shore every moment.

The ocean deals with its past every moment.

But it’s past, the sand,

Gets washed away with every wave.

The ocean overcomes the bygone,

Wave by wave.

The mystery known only to the ocean

Is that of the unforgettable past.

A past that aches and pains.

The past that haunts.

The ocean now bears

every unit of its past.

The sand that merges into the ocean.

Not to be felt,

But never to be forgotten.
