Baby Girl Gone Before Arrived

By Rabani Dhingra

I was born in this world,

What shall be done,

Will you kill me like you did to the other two before,

Am I not enough for you,

I could do the same, which you wished

Perhaps you don’t want for me to live,

I was just waiting for my eyes to open and for you to kiss.

Perhaps that is why you killed me before I was born,

Perhaps that is why you closed my eyes and wanted me gone.
