You Are Mine

By Tanya Yadav

It’s my wish to make you my groom,

To decorate my hands with henna in your name.

To take your troubles, to offer myself for your blessings,

It’s my wish to make you mine.

Loyalty isn’t difficult; just look here.

My world resides in your eyes.

Listen to echoes of words yet unspoken,

You are my haven, the bond never broken.

Hear the prayers, yes, hear to the unshedded tears.

I fell in love, like the sun kissed the dawn,

And with every heartbeat, my spirit was drawn.

I became crazy, I became intoxicated.

How many tales were born from my desire for you?

The fragrance of your arrival, the sight of your departure,

It’s been ages now; we must meet.

The call of our destinies, entwined me to be your wife, I fell in love, and you aremy life.

Hear the calls, yes, hear the trials.

I fell in love, I grew my love.
