The Last Poetry
By Arbia Enam
“Till death do us part”
But what if it really pulls us apart?
And we reach to our end.
A cursed destiny of our life
which we couldn't amend.
Will we die, hands in hand?
Or one of us would be left behind?
What if, it is you who stays?
While I'm buried deep inside my grave.
Would you still love me when I am gone?
Would you still think of me,
when you'll be left all alone?
Ode to the promises we made,
promises we thought we'd never break.
To be together for the rest of our life.
To be together happy and alive.
But now I think, it's a bit late
now one of us has to leave, I'm afraid.
And if you leave, I'm coming with you
If you leave, I'm leaving too
Forever with you,
always following the path you'd choose.
And while, we are both gone.
Would this world grieve for the loss?
Laying down our caskets,
would they think of 'us'?
And while, our body perishes.
Will our souls be lost, in a void?
Or will we meet again, in the afterlife?
