The Classroom Called Life
By Sia Jakhere
A bursting fountain,
FOr some a crumbling morsel.
Peaking in the splendour of youth,
To realise the fleeting nature of joy takes no sleuth.
DIfficult to imagine that in a person so mellow,
Lies a dark energy deep below.
A volcano erupting from those uncouth
To realise the destructive nature of anger takes no sleuth.
The single, salty, silent tear,
A constant whisper of a fear.
It is the frost that kills the bloom,
To realise the degenerative nature of grief, takes no sleuth.
But at the end of the day,
It’s almost as though life wants to say-
“Do what you do, be on your way,
but don’t forget the lessons
the classroom of life once gave.”
