Raising Son's, Saving Daughters

Updated: Jul 18

By Aksa Shafi

Our daughters' safety, a weight we bear,

Depends on our sons and the values they share.

For when we raise them right, with hearts full of gold,

Our daughters will flourish, with futures to mold.

We must teach our sons to respect and to care,

To see women as equals, with love and with flair.

To recognize their strength, courage, and might,

And stand by their side through the dark of night.

We must show them the way to be kind and compassionate,

To listen and learn with hearts that are expansive.

To understand that consent is a fundamental right,

And every woman's body is her own to ignite.

When we raise our sons with these values in mind,

Our daughters will be safer, with futures aligned.

They'll pursue their dreams and desires without fear,

Free from harassment, with hearts that are clear.

So let us raise our sons to be men of great might,

With hearts that are pure and spirits that shine bright.

Let us teach them to respect, care for, and adore,

So our daughters can thrive and reach their full score.

For a brighter tomorrow, we must start today,

By raising sons who respect and daughters who lead the way.

With confidence and courage, they'll pave their own path,

And create a world where equality shines, come what may.
