My Name Is Not My Name .

Originally my mother wanted to name me Audrey

After one of her favourite actors

My father did not like the name, so he named me ava.

My name is not my name-

My middle names,

One a mix of my aunts and mums’ middle names

The other one

My mother’s last name.

My name is not my name-

My last name,

Not even my fathers

It is some random guy’s last name my grandmother gave my father

He ended up changing it back.

My name is not my name-

If I am but pieces of others

Was I ever even myself

Will my name

Ever be my name?

Perhaps one day

I will make a name for myself,

I guess that is the truth

All one is

Are fragments of others,

And maybe that is beautiful

But I need

One thing

That is mine alone,

So, I will make

My name,

My. Name.
