Longing For A Starry Night

By Jiah Zahid Abdulla

In the midnight,

Diamonds sine bright.

Diamonds that twinkle,

In the dark blue sky.

To the starts who shine bright

When happy,

And the stars that don’t shine bright.

I am here for you.

You are the Love of my life.

No one can love the stars

As much as I do,

As I am your lover.

In this modern world

Yes, in the ‘modern world’,

The air which has been poisoned,

The scorching curse of the sun

Has made me sick

I’ve looked for you in this,

Poisoned sky.

But alas, you are nowhere to be seen.

I will die my love!

I will die in this modern world!

Soon my eyes, will be forever closed,

So please show up today.

You are my only cure,

No one in this world

Will know your worth better than me.

Come, show up,

If I have committed no sins.

For one last time my love,

Then I will be gone.

For one last time my love,

For one last time.
