From Ashes to Ashes

From the ashes I was built

And to the ashes I will burn 

Like a phoenix I will rise

Like a student I learn

Like a human I fall 

To the paychecks I earn

Like an author, I write 

To my life story I turn

From the life I lived 

To a life in an urn

From the ashes, I was built 

To the ashes, I will return 

When I go, I will burn like fire

Because By water I was born

From the people I mourned

To the people I’ve warned 

Remembered by all

That my life was hard earned

From the mountains I climbed 

And like Rome I fall

I won’t be remembered

As the guy who didn’t give his all

When I blaze in embers 

I will remember to stand tall 

Born into nothing turn something 

Back into nothing at all 

From the fire, I was built 

And from the water I was born 

With all the love, I was given 

And all the respect I’ve earned 

Out of everything in my head 

Let me tell you what I’ve learned 

If all that rising was for nothing 

Then maybe I was born to fall 

You were born to rise to the occasion 

That comes with Hurts, bruises and abrasions 

Born as an individual 

I lived as a nation

With Will and determination 

To bring us to a better destination 

Killer innovation 

That killed my imitations 

With my heart and mind that killed my limitations
