Embers Of Hope

The winds got colder

And the weather harsher.

We sat in front of the fireplace,

As the fire was slowly dying.

It turned the shade of sunset

And the hues of softness

Brought peace to minds in despair.

Watching the little embers dance

Our hearts touched the sky

The reek of burning wood

Smelt insanely satisfying.

As we stared at the fire

Eventually getting dimmer.

Our hearts felt lighter

And unlike the low fire,

Our hopes were high.

Even as the winds got colder

And the weather harsher.
