Durga maa symbolises strength and power, revered by vast majority of Indians but she also highlights a contradiction. The contradiction is of cultural from social, the hypocrisy with which we pray to divine feminine but subsequently consider females weak and subservient. This art makes me reflect on our history and cultural sensibility and makes me wonder how female status has degraded to such an extent in Indian society.
