An Ascent through the Storm

When all was lost,
Stuck in the midst of a storm
Full of adversities,
Deprived of contentment was I.
Yet, when I looked across the horizon,
A fire in my heart that had resided
Proclaimed,
“Why dost thou be sad?
For in times of adversities,
Hope fails not to prevail”
This was it, I found it again;
A chance, an opportunity to prove, I had regained
A joyous dance rejoiced in my heart.
As it presented itself to me,
I looked up at it, ready to be free,
Yet I could not bring myself to catch hold of it
“One more chance gone? Just like that?”
I stood still, petrified of my act.
“Falter not” my heart exclaimed, and I went forward.
A majestic steed kept ready for me;
I went over and rode on top through mountains and their trees
With every passing second,
Time would pass a second faster.
Through the paradise above we went,
And over the canyons of hell we galloped away.
When dusk was near, I looked back once more;
I was tired, I was hungry, yet I was starving no more.
As the sun set, and as midnight neared,
I closed my eyes for the last time, and everything else disappeared.
